back in the old days (way early HP-UX -say version 4)... A good friend of mine was big into emacs, and couldn''t understand why I was a vi partisan.... I pointed out to him that vi is *everywhere*, while emacs required him to port his tool chain over to each new machine... he came around to my way of thinking over time.... -- Dave
