Anything over 79 chars, you should prolly think about breaking down into a function in most scripting languages...
That being said, to stoke these flames, I've never seen anyone that was truly proficient in nano or pico. Actually I rarely see people who don't curse silently when EDITOR defaults to one of those abominations.
