Not having wireless networking tools work out of the box is one of the
biggest downfalls of Debian for desktop users, imho. The trouble
you're having right now is why I went back to Ubuntu after a few weeks
on Debian for the first time in years. Sorry that I don't have any
specific advice.

I know my wireless devices on this machine work with Linux because they work fine under Knoppix. What packages do I need to install?? Should the kernel configuration already be fine the way it is, or do I need to configure and re-compile it to make all of my wireless networking operate correctly?
