[ale] remote access to Windows box

Hello all,

What are good options for remote access to a Windows box (probably XP,
possibly VIsta) off a broadband account from my home account?  I've
dragged my parents computing into the 20th century, and now hope to be
able to actually just fix problems instead of having to intuit them
from my mom's phone messages.
