Just a thought: can you configure two of them identically and then export the settings so you can check the differences between them? It may reveal other differences than just the MAC address, and it may also point out a checksum as well. Of course, if there *is* a checksum, then getting around it may be more of a hassle than doing it the hard way. Sorry I can't help more than this.
