Are you by chance trying to save a file to smb://host/share/filename?
That's the only way that complaint would make sense to me. If so,
that's not really the ideal approach.
Normally you'd mount a samba share on your machine much like any other
remote filesystem, i.e. by putting an entry into /etc/fstab or your
automounter. Then your application won't have any idea that it's
saving anywhere special.
