[ale] OO unable to create file on a samba server

All,

The gui newbie again.  I have a samba based fileserver that everyone
in the company uses.

I just tried to use calc to create file on there.  It says smb
protocol is not supported for writing files.

Not exactly a friendly thing to say in a corp. env.

Fortunately I admin the samba server.  What do I need to do, share
everything as nfs in addition to samba?

Or is it expected I create the files locally and copy them to the
share drive when I'm done?
