[ale] dual boot xp sp2 and any linux distro

My latest box had xp home on it when I added SuSE 9.1.  I did do the 
service virus 2 first, then the SuSE 9.1 install.  All went fine.  Is 
your friend sure they didn't select to not install grub?  They should be 
able to recover from this problem by booting to rescue and reinstalling 
grub. (man grub-install)
