If the AS/400 supports a serial port console (I'm 88% sure it does) then
a Cyclades serial port connector will do the trick. The Cyclades box
(the upper end models) support direct ssh connection and then a
keystroke combo to select the remote console screen. Their lowest end
box (about the size of a deck of cards) will connect a single machine
serial port to a single ethernet line and makes the serial line
addressable after a ssh login. Nice stuff. All hardware-based embedded
Linux.
