I just came across a book published online by the German Government (in
english).

Its over 400 pages (3+ Megs) long, but it talks about all sorts of
issues a large organization would face migrating from Windows Servers to
Linux Servers.  

Specifically, a fair amount of attention is given to replacing Domain
Controllers with Samba.

The German version is going to be printed and sold, but for now at least
the English version is only available online.
