[ale] VMWare disk lossage



My Linux desktop locked and died last night, again.  I didn't get a chance
to power off my VMWare desktop first though.  Now when I power it on
I get an error message that the disk fails a sanity check and that it
can't open the REDO file (there isn't one).

Anyone know a fix or am I re-installing from scratch?  I couldn't find
an answer for this on the web site, if you have one, feel free to send
a link so I can bookmark it.
