Here is my four cents: I have used a SIIG Aurora 4000 Plus PCI SVGA Accelerator
( 4MB EDO?? RAM) for at least two years with various distros. Always
works. Supports your resolution and a good deal more, at various color
depths.

I am looking for a 4
meg PCI video card supported by linux. One that supports a 800x600 +
screen with out locking the system up.
See the other card I had, a Trident VGA 9685, would
lock the system, when in an X windows
session, no matter how I configured it or what I used
to configure it. So any Recommendations
on a video card???
Thanks ahead of time.
