[ale] Linux Video Card

I am looking for a 4 meg PCI video card supported
by linux. One that supports a 800x600 +
screen with out locking the system up.
See the other card I had, a Trident VGA 9685, would
lock the system, when in an X windows
session, no matter how I configured it or what I used
to configure it. So any Recommendations
on a video card???
