[ale] Software Recs

I'm looking for a few good apps...maybe someone has suggestions.

1)  Looking for a good (free or commercial) apache.log analyzer.
2)  A free, CLI dictionary.  ie:
    $ dict ale
      ale: (ayl) Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Something like that.

Any pointers?  Thanks.
