[ale] Linux and NetBSD

After hearing that I had just gotten Linux working on my machine, a
friend asked me why I chose Linux over *BSD. I bumbled around a bit
about this and that, but basically failed to give a good answer. Could
someone who's feeling particularly non-religious please outline the
major differences/advantages/disadvantages between Linux, NetBSD and
FreeBSD?
