There's some info at http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/indexabout.html  - it's connected at 10Gbps.  

Naturally what throughput you're able to get will depend on how you arrive on the AARNet network - there is unfortunately less bandwidth into the west of Australia from Asia is than there is into the east coast from the United States.
