AMPS is long dead in the US, but you don't see that now
irrelavant and useless thing being removed from "law" do you.
(Well, more applicably, "cordless household phones", which
have also evolved somewhat beyond a simple fixed 800MHz
carrier. Regulate Technology vs. Act, stupid govt's.)
