Speculation on the net is US Dem Kerry etcetera applied pressure while
visiting London and elsewhere. Assange is effective Ecuador citizen,
not sovereign Ecuador state employee, thus E is censoring its citizens
independant journalism (though presumably only from formerly using
state resources to do so). Wifi / cellular / broadband subscription is
surely available or provided in area (by supporters or party vans).
