Gandhian pacifism works to (eventually) oust external invaders (albeit
there were armed elements of Indian resistance to the brits).

UNFORTUNATELY, ousting one's own despots or replacing traditional
governments (Russian Czarists) usually looks more like Mussolini hanging
from a lamp post, or pick one of the above's  methods
