[ale] 64bit vs 32bit

Compiled a bit of code for 64bit arch.  When running the program I get:

xxxxxxx: error while loading shared libraries:xxxxxxx.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
 
This would seem to indicate that xxxxxxx.so is a 32bit library, but:
 
But:

file xxxxxxx.so
xxxxxxx.so: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, BuildID[sha1]=3251b2b8587debc638ed0d28bf3ba8737cf8f937, not stripped
