Hi Folks,
Just switched to ATT for internet (don't ask) and am having trouble
accessing email via Evolution (3.2.3).? The support desk was
characteristically useless.? I believe I have the basic set up details
correct but when I go to recieve email, Evolution goes into 'Waiting...'
when connecting to the server until it fails on a time-out.
Anyone successfully connecting to ATT via Evolution?? Any help would be
appreciated.
CONFIG:
Receiving:
??????? Server Type???? : POP
??????? Server????????? : inbound.att.net
??????? Port??????????? : 995
??????? User Name?????? : <my att email>
??????? Encryption????? : SSL
??????? Auth. Type????? : Password (supposedly the only supported type according to Evolution's server query.)
When receiving, the error msg I get is:"Could not connect to inbound.att.net: Connection timed out"
Sending:
??????? Server Type???? : SMTP
??????? Server????????? : outbound.att.net
??????? Port??????????? : 465
??????? Encryption????? : SSL
??????? Auth. Type????? : Login (also tried PLAIN which is also supposedly supported)
??????? User name?????? : <my att email>
???????
When sending, the error msg I get is:"MAIL FROM command failed: 5.7.1 Authentication required"
Again, if you've successfully connected to ATT with Evolution or any other Linux client I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks in advance.
