I never read anyone's email without cause or specifically being asked.

OTOH, corporate email isn't private. It is the property of the company
and the contents should reflect that. What does it matter of the admin
reads it? In theory, she/he is part of the team (unless it was outsourced).
If you want privacy with your personal email, don't forget it is more
like a postcard than a letter. Use gpg. This applies even if you host
email inside your home.
