Also, if you are using kerosene or gas heaters (or kerosene for lighting), be sure to have a working carbon monoxide detector properly placed in your home.

Tis the season to get cold and heat the house. Our neighbors just lost a
lot in a house fire, fortunately everyone was awake and everyone is
safe. They were about to go to bed.
Check your smoke alarms. Make a plan.
