[ale] Modern generic Linux config for MS AD environment

I'm having trouble finding a modern-day guide to Linux integration with 
MS Active Directory environments sufficient to support console and ssh 
logins and also Samba connections (I'd like to fold PostgreSQL access 
into this too but that's nowhere near as big a deal as shell and Samba). 
Does anyone have a go-to link for me that isn't so old that it's got 
deprecated smb.conf options?
