FWIW, I use the ATH-M50s at the office all day and they're very 
comfortable. They drown out the CPU and AC noise and significantly 
muffle ambient conversation. They still let in enough sound, though, 
that I can hear if someone is talking directly to me (assuming I want to 
hear them and mute my music).
