What is the file system on the extra storage? If ext2/3/4, then resize2fs can
work. If LVM, there are other steps needed first.
btrfs man page? Isn't easier management THE reason for it? Google found:

Did that not work (assuming btrfs)?
I must be misunderstanding something.
