run in terminal: cp /backup/file /home/me/Desktop
and the file is moved to the correct directory.
But . . . .
It doesn't show up on the desktop! It's there, according to the terminal and an ls command.
It's also there via the GUI if I open a file manager and look at /me/Desktop.
So how do I get the icons (and files) to show up on the actual desktop?
