[ale] Network topology mapping with linux?

Has anyone used/spun a solution to map out network topologies?

Just tried out SolarWinds network topology mapper and I'm not super impressed.

We have some old visio diagrams that are out of date, and what I'd
really want is something like a combination of rancid [1] and graphviz
to automate it based on routing/cdp/arp tables.

Ideas?
