[ale] Extending a Router with code

Hi All.
I have a requirement for building an appliance that will also act as a
network router. It will be almost identical to a normal network router
but will also include an application I have written that will control
the attached devices.

So of the many open source web-based router UI applications out there
(openwrt, zeroshell...)  Are there any that will allow me to extend
the UI easily. Something that has a plugin mechanism I guess?
