[ale] USB enumeration issues in 3.0.0

Thanks to James Sumners I've replaced a Compaq I bought in 12/08 at a
Circuit City liquidation with what he had for sale.  Compiles code fast.

I'm running into an issue with enumeration of some of my usb devices.  I
noticed it first with an 2.5"" external USB drive enclosure.  The only
way I could get it to work was to disable the ehci controller.

Ubuntu 11.10 uses Linux 3.0.0.  I'm curios if anyone else has
experienced this?  I'm thinking of picking up a PCI-e USB 3.0 controller
off eBay from China and giving that a try.
