[ale] OT: hackable device

Of course it does. The real question though is: Can you get one?

Does anyone know if Walmarts still have the RCA's in stock?

BTW read the bottom of the hackaday page. There are reports that the RCA
box gets burning hot. It may need a fan. Other reports indicate that the
remotes fail and that the box is not usable without it.

I think it's much more interesting as a mini wireless Linux box as opposed
to a media player. Just at first glance it looks like the Western Digital
Media Live box has more features and includes an Ethernet jack (but no
wireless). It can have custom firmware that supports a wide array of new
features too.

Just my two cents. I'd still buy one or two to hack if I can find it.
