Hey Elmer!
One of the interesting things about cloud vs hosted servers is the cost
model. A business can move to the cloud, where appropriate, and the
"servers" become an operational expense vice a capital expense.
That also means they can allow remote administration without having to
lower any defenses in their business LAN space, are less affected by
local bad weather, and "going in to work" can be done despite snow
storms or bad traffic. I'm the team disaster recovery expert, can you
tell? :)
Obviously not everything is cloud suitable, but the model is looking to
be a good one for a lot of start-ups and small businesses. Or
entrepreneurial ventures for larger businesses.
