[ale] yum update works, gui, pup says no updates

So, newly installed Centos.  I run the gui update app, pup, returns and 
says no updates.  Well, I know better then that, so I run 'yum update' 
from the command line and it updates a large number of packages.

Any ideas why pup doesn't see them?
