"copy_modules_dir
copies an entire module directory from /lib/modules/KERNELVER-
SION/ into the initramfs image.
Example: copy_modules_dir kernel/drivers/ata"
So you would create a hook script, as described in the manpage, and
have that script do the above. Then you would use initramsfs-tools to
build your new image.
