[ale] OT: Disposal of standard fluorescent lamps?

It disgusts me to see, but in the complex I live in, the commercial
units throw about 20 long (4-8') fluorescent tubes into the dumpsters
every week. Sometimes working ones, we've salvaged a hundred or so for
a project. Good luck finding a safe way to dispose of them.
