Clearly there was a kernel bug, but it didn't get to sync the error to
disk. The crash might've been in the disk/block drivers or something
that caused the system to fail to sync to disk. I presume there was
nothing on the console prior to the reboot? (Or... is this a completely
headless system?)
This could be a hardware or software issue, but most likely a kernel bug.
