[ale] ISP monitoring Software

Ale Crew,

I am having intermittent problems with my comcast connection.  I would
like to monitor it throughout day so I can proactively report problems
rather than wait until I notice there is a problem.

What do you recommend that will not require extensive coding?

If nothing better I was thinking of just monitoring ping times in a loop.
