A lot of the stuff we do as hobbies we pay for.  Take Amateur Radio for
example.  Some folks like public service.  ALL of that is volunteer work
with none of it being reimbursed.  The ops pay for everything.  They do
it because they enjoy it.

The club I am on the board of did do a presentation at DragonCon last
year.  Luckily, all of us received a day pass for the day we were
presenting.  We presented on Saturday and Monday.  We got passes for
both days but none for Sunday.

We packed our room and had standing attendance so we are planning on
doing it again this year.
