[ale] Areca SATA Card and Cables?

I just got an Areca RAID card ( http://bit.ly/gfvyCl ) which claims to
have multlane support.  I have a sonnets Fusion R400 (
http://www.sonnettech.com/product/fusionr400p.html).  When I plug them
together with an external cable similar to the top one in this picture
( http://www.sonnettech.com/product/esata_cables.html ) with a
connector just like the bottom of that page. I can see only 1 drive,
not the 4 on the Sonnet enclosure.  The Areca card only has 4 internal
slots but should support 16 drives, so 4 per sata slot.  The Fusion
only has a single Sata connection on the back and nothing like other
connector.  Anyone have any ideas?
