[ale] OOImpress and M$ password encryption

So, all is good in Fedoraland till I received what I assume to be a password 
protected Power Point presentation.
OOImpress complains saying "Move Background page Assignment. The loading of 
password encrypted Microsoft Power Point Presentations is not supported."

I am using Fedora 12 with the original rpm version of OO 3.1.
I do not wish to download the latest-and-greatest (I will if I have to :o-(  ) 
OO due to the poor integration with KDE.

Is there a workaround for this?
