The Linux Users Group at Georgia Tech presents
"Introduction to the Linux Development Environment"
by Chad D. Kersey
Sep. 16th, 2009, 7:00 PM
College of Computing Building, room 52
Overview:
Every Linux distro comes with the same basic set of development tools
and system libraries. This presentation will be an overview of an
essential subset of GNU development tools needed for development in C
and C++, and some of the features provided by the Linux system
libraries. Tools demonstrated will include GCC (compiler), GDB
(debugger), GProf (profiler), and Gnu Make (build system). If you
already know a bit of C or C++ and want to learn how to apply your
knowledge in a Linux development environment, this presentation is a
place to start.
Upcoming presentations:
2009.09.23: Cracking Wireless
2009.09.30: Windows to Linux Roundtable
2009.10.07: DDWRT
Note: this presentation was announced in previous weeks as "Software
Development Environments in Different OSes" incorrectly due to a
miscommunication. Sorry to those of you who wanted to learn about
Visual Studio, but then, we are the LUG, not the MUG. :)
Hope to see you there!
