and maglev is horribly ungreen if it does not use dynamic switching of
magnet currents, especially if  you are using coal to generate the
power.   maglev is a fantasy almost on the level of skycars.

Also, the other problem with any rail platform for transport is that
you become vulnerable to union actions by the train engineers once
they get to a certain size... and the usual government featherbedding
often occurs. TANSTAFFL...
