true, but the ratio in the steering box is different on it than with a
modern car that comes with power steering.

we put power steering on my 67 chevy truck and you could drive it with
your little finger.  after a couple years i changed the pump and
steering box again because you would wear yourself out on a long drive
just by holding the truck straight.
