[ale] Audio CDs no longer recognized

When I first upgraded (fresh install) to Fedora 11 I did not have this
problem, so I think some update must have broke it. When I put an audio
cd into either my DVD-ROM or DVD-RAM, the drive light will come on as
normal for a few secs then will start blinking then stop. Nothing
happens, auto-mount never occurs and when I check it shows no media
loaded in either device. It only happens with audio CDs, pre-recorded or
pressed DVDs are mounted as well as burned Cds & burned DVDs. It
apparently no longer recognizes the file format of audio cds anymore.
What exactly transpires between the time that I insert media into one of
these drives and the icon appears? I'd like to know this so that I might
be able to figure out what's wrong without guessing. As in knowing what
files are involved and the sequence of events that transpire, as well as
the difference with each mentioned media formats.
Sorry for being a PITA, but TIA anyway...
