[ale] Linksys router stopping ftp:// sites

ok, starting a new thread..
I finally figured out that I had to stopthe firewall on my linksys router to 
be able to go to ANY firefox site that starts with ftp://
using http I can download anything, and I don't have a problem getting updates 
to my systems.

what do I need to do to my router to FIX this, without turning off the 
firewall. Or should I turn it off.. unfortunately I have another laptop ( 
wifes) running Vista, on my network... MY network :)
