[ale] KUbuntu Hardy doesn't seem to know my dns host.

How do I configure whatever to make it save my dns host between 
reboots.  The /etc/resolv.conf file say "Don't modify this file 'cause 
it's being automatically generated" but it's generated with comments only.

In menu Settings/Network DNS tab I have the ip address of the 
nameserver, but apparently that's not enough.
