[ale] Kcron and Streamripper

I wrote a little script that starts Streamripper and records from an 
internet
radio station to record a friend's late-night radio show.
  It is set to run for 2 hours. If I run it from a terminal, it 
continues to record
but if I start it with Kcron, it records 176.0 KB and stops.
  I Googled up the same problem but didn't find an answer.
Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10

Any help would be appreciated.
