Might seem sarcastic, but...
Don't use it?
Better yet only use it when you have to?

I understand the need for anonymity, but sometimes we take it a bit too far.
But then again, don't know what you are doing.  :-)

Tor is slow by nature, you are proxying and ecrypting through a shared 
resource.
