i'm pretty sure you can set it up either way; it's pretty flexible.  i 
set it up at work with the same constraint (have to be logged into use 
it), but i stay logged in all the time, so i've completely forgotten 
what the actual log in process is.  i'll refresh my memory when i get to 
work tomorrow.
