[ale] IP to location

Anyone:

A friend wants to distinguish US from non-US visitors to his web site.  
Web searches indicate that http://www.ip2location.com is the standard in 
this area, though an ALE discussion once upon a time doubted the 
accuracy of IP-to-location schemes.

Since his screening is crude and non-critical, I've looked for a way to 
accesss http://www.ip2location.com from his Earthlink webhost, and come 
up empty.  Is there a simple way, or maybe a proxy service we can use at 
low volume?
